Throughout the long history of the Rectorship, many notable public figures have taken up the role. From comedians to politicians, advocates to journalists, the past Rectors of Scotland's ancient universities and Dundee have come from a wide variety of backgrounds and have interpreted the role in similarly diverse ways.
